Set in a commanding position at the top of historic Dunster’s High Street, overlooking the castle, this 15th century hotel was used in medieval times as a guest house by the Abbots of Cleeve. All 28 bedrooms (including five 4-poster bedrooms) have stylish antique furniture and immaculate tiled bathrooms. Superior rooms include discreetly disguised stereos, TVs, fridges, ironing boards and bathrobes. Altogether this is a perfect spot from which to explore Exmoor’s many sights including the nearby Rosemoor, Hestercombe and Cothay Manor Gardens.
