Exmoor Steam Railway and Gardens

The railway nestles on the western slopes of the Exmoor National Park, at almost ]000ft above sea level (the highest narrow gauge steam railway in England). The extensive gardens contain many unusual trees and shrubs. Why not sit awhile amongst the colourful herbaceous borders and enjoy some of Exmoor's beautiful scenery, or wander down to the lake.
The Exmoor Steam Railway continues to develop to give a magical insight into the delightful era of Victorian steam trains. Pure nostalgia; remember those glorious smells? Hot steam, oil & smoke... Our famous 12.25" narrow gauge tank engines and authentic rolling stock [featured on the TV no less than six times) are all designed and manufactured here in our extensive workshops by father and son, Trevor & Tony Stirland.
