Exmoor Falconry
Are you looking for the unusual adventure? Come and spend a day in our stunningly beautiful medieval National Trust farm, at Exmoor Falconry & Animal Farm, where you can enjoy getting close to nature and interacting with the animals and birds of prey. Take a trip back in time in our newly opened historical display areas, in the medieval 15th century thatched barns. We offer daily flying displays, where you can join in and fly a bird to your gloved hand, and interactive animal handling sessions, when you will meet the rabbits, guinea pigs, polecat ferrets, lizards, snakes and tortoises. Wander through the fields and paddocks and meet the calves, alpacas, ponies, pygmy goats, ducks, Australian swans and kune kune pigs.
The farm itself dates from the 15th century with specialist displays happening twice a day. The animals are hand tame and can be petted with some bottle feeding and handling session with certain animals but this feature will depend upon there being baby animals and is not guarnteed. There are also pony rides in the summer months with educational talks, hawking weekend, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding also available.
If you book into one of our animal or bird activities, you can take a walk with the alpacas and ponies, enjoy a spectacular horse ride across Exmoor, have a pony ride for the very young, experience a river hawk walk with a harris hawk or hourly sessions with the owls and
falcons, or participate in a half day or full day with the falconer on one of our falconry experience days.
A stay in our lovely 15th century farmhouse bed and breakfast accommodation will complement and complete your holiday to Exmoor.

Many believed it would not survive, and there were times when Cathy doubted it themselves, but 11 years on, Exmoor Falconry and Animal Farm has grown into a successful visitor attraction on Exmoor, yet continues to maintain sustainable eco-tourism within a delicate environment.

We have re-named our centre Exmoor Owls and Hawks (formerly Exmoor Falconry Centre) I am posting this here as we are actually registered as a zoo and have to undergo Zoo vet inspections as we display "Exotics" to paying public. We are a small rural farm where we encourage close contact with animals and birds for the better education and understanding of humans. We offer horse riding which has to be over some of the best un-spoilt rural routes in the UK, you can take an Alpaca, minature Shetland, minature Donkey or even all 3 acrooss our stunning local landscape, you can stay b&b in our 15th century National trust thatched farmstead, you can walk around and just enjoy the animals and the place. Then you can be amazed at the birds of prey as they fly in natural surroundings across the fields or inside in our medieval threshing barn, if you really want something different then book an activity with us and have them fly to your gloved hand. All a fantastic day out, but then I live here work here and play here so probably a little biased!
