Cowbridge Sawmill
Cowbridge Sawmill owners Owen and Angela Rush bought the buildings in a dilapidated state back in 1995 Mr Rush managed to get the 14ft water wheel turning for the first time in 50 years and since then has dedicated his spare time to the renovation of the entire site. Now, the rundown buildings are gone, replaced by a new two-storey building of local stone and a slate roof.
Work is continuing on plans to revamp a forge and turn part of the buildings into a museum to create a new tourist attraction for Timberscombe and the surrounding area. The mill's water whe is now turning again with the aim of producing hydro electric power. The sawmill can be found at the junction of the A396 and the road to Wootton Courtenay.
