Sir Billy Butlin was quick to see Minehead's potential in the early 50s and opened a holiday camp in Minehead. The holiday, camp was a great success and during its hey days in the 1950s and 1960s hordes of excited people arrived for their week or fortnight of fun in the sun. With the advent of cheap holidays abroad the holiday camp industries has declined though still in existence to a lesser degree today although it is a favourite with parents with young families

Covering the heart of the Resort is the Skyline Pavilion. The distinctive canopy can be spotted long before you reach the resort and covers a variety of bars and restaurants, shops, side-shows, arcades and the kid's favourite - Noddy's Toyland. The Pavilion has a central stage area that hosts live entertainment during the day - meaning no matter what the great British weather is doing outside there's always plenty to do and loads of weatherproof fun to be had.
The Sun and Moon traditional pub serves a large variety of quality pub foods, while The Skyline Cafe, under the Skyline Pavilion, has tea, coffee, pastries and snacks on offer all day, plus we have the ever popular Burger King and of course Harry Ramsden's serving their famous fish and chips.
