Barricane Beach is a small sandy beach at low tide adjacent to Woolacombe beach separated by rocks offering a picturesque landscape. Beware the beach is not accessible at high tide. Good for shells, rock pools, swimming and surfing. Natural pool at high tide.

Barricane Beach
Barricane Beach is one of Woolacombe’s smaller beaches. It is famous for its shell beach. It is designated as a site of special scientific interest. There are fascinating fossils to be found within the Morte Slate. Barricane Beach just north of Woolacombe Sands is a small rocky cove with a beach made of broken sea shells not native to Britain. Rock pools amongst the flat rocks. Wheelchair access is possible if a little difficult. Parking is on the Mortehoe road (opposite The Devon Beach Hotel) or at Woolacombe Beach car park five minutes walk away.
Beach Type: Sand/Shingle
Woolacombe - Barricane Bay is an attractive golden sand and shingle beach set in a bay, half a mile from the main Woolacombe beach. Great for rock pooling, popular among surfers, with a good coastal walk toward Morthoe and recommended accomodation at the Waters Meet hotel on the headland.
