Alderman's Barrow in Somerset dating to the Bronze Age is 1.2m high and 27.4 in diameter. It was documented in 1219 as "Osmundesburgh". Ref L V Grinsell Arch. of Exmoor. 1970, 62

Close by lies a stoneAPPROX GR 836424 which reads:
'To the memory of Major Stephen Hilary Cox M.B.E 1893 - 1973, Master of the Quarme Harriers 1927 and to his sister Avis Craven 1905 - 1974 . Two Happy People. This stone looks over to Lynton where they were born and their ashes lie on these Moors which they loved.'
